School News and Updates
Class of 2025: Scholarship packets are now available for Seniors to fill out in order to potentially receive scholarship money from local organizations. All seniors should take advantage of this opportunity. We are fast approaching the application deadline, with one week left to applyApplications are due February 22nd. Review the eligibility criteria carefully to determine which scholarship(s) you are most qualified to pursue. You may apply for more than one scholarship, but it is important that students submit a completed application for the scholarships being sought. Applications are considered complete when all necessary documents, such as letters of recommendation, essays, proof of acceptance, etc., are submitted. For further information, contact Dr. Best, Scholarship Coordinator.

Only 3 weeks until the DHS Drama Club’s production of The Addams Family. The show will run from March 6th - 8th.

Congratulations again to Janine Adrian and Hunter Mulligan for their winning entries for the Dunellen Arts and Inclusion Culture Commission Black History Month art contest. They will both be recognized by the Borough Council on Tuesday, February 18th for their creations.

Congratulations to all of the students that were recognized at the Honor Roll Assembly. Almost 150 students earned this award for the 2nd quarter. All of that hard work and studying is appreciated and will pay off in the future.

The Spring Sport season is approaching. Any student interested in participating in baseball, softball, boys tennis, or track & field should make sure they have submitted their paperwork so that they can join a team. If interested, please be sure to see Mr. DeNapoli or Mrs. Buchholz in Room 202 for more information.

Class of 2026: Students in Grade 11 will be taking the New Jersey Graduation Proficiency Assessment (NJGPA) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, March 11 - 14. This is the Graduation test students need to pass in order to be in a position to graduate in 2026. Students need to be sure to charge their Chromebooks, try to get a good night's sleep, and be on time to school!

From the Dunellen PTO: The Dunellen PTO Tricky Tray is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025.  Details for registration and ordering tickets will be provided sometime in February.   We are currently looking for donations to help make our Tricky Tray a successful event.  The more donations we receive, the more prizes we can have at our Tricky Tray, the more money we can raise.  And all money raised goes back to our students, our teachers, and our schools.  For Grades 6 through 12, we are looking to request items related to specific themes for each grade so we can put together some big ticket baskets for our Tricky Tray.  Any help our families can offer is greatly appreciated and helps us do as much as we can for our kids.  Thank you!

Important Reminders
For the Class of 2025: The College Acceptances bulletin board is going up at DHS. We will display the names of students and the colleges that have been accepted to. As the college acceptances start to roll in, please be sure to contact Ms. Markert and the Counseling Office so that they are aware and can add the names and schools for display.

REMINDER: The DHS Homework Help Center runs from 2:45 - 3:45 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the DHS Tech Center. Students can come to get extra help from teachers with their school work or just sit and have a quiet place to get things done. We encourage students to attend so that they have fewer or no assignments to do when they get home.

The 2025 Exodus Yearbook is on sale. To purchase a yearbook, use the following link: https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/customer/1057616/Dunellen-High-School/

With Mrs. Feddema’s Physical Education groups, students are getting a chance to learn the timeless skill of archery, using the bow and arrow (safely, of course) to hit the target as close to the bullseye as possible. With Mr. Lindsey and Mr. Arango’s PE groups, they are learning to dribble, pass, and shoot the basketball. Both great indoor activities for the winter months.
