Thank you to Dr. Best and the Counseling department for organizing the annual DHS College Fair for all 11th and 12th graders during their PE classes. Over 40 colleges, trade schools, and the military were represented at the fair. It was a great opportunity for our students to meet with the representatives and help to plan for their futures.

Important Reminders

Class of 2025 & 2026: Please check your Genesis account for a document concerning the requirement of schools to provide certain student information to military recruiters, institutions of higher learning, and/or prospective employers, unless otherwise notified. There is a form to fill out if you do not consent to the disclosure of this information to these groups.

The 2025-2026 Exodus Yearbook is officially on sale.

ParentSquare app: Dunellen Public Schools is using ParentSquare for all district and school communications and these messages work better on the app!

Please download the app (Apple, Android) to your phone or tablet to get the best experience with the information that is sent out. The app will allow you to view attachments, send messages, and get updates all in a feed format that resembles a social media platform!!

Attention Winter Athletes: Any student looking to play basketball or wrestle this winter, be sure to complete the necessary forms in order to be eligible. For more information, please visit the DHS Athletics website: DHS Athletics

The DHS Homework Help Center will run from 2:45 - 3:45 pm, and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the DHS Tech Center. Students can come to get extra help from teachers with their school work or just sit and have a quiet place to get things done. We encourage students to attend so that they have fewer or no assignments to do when they get home.

All students: A reminder about our ongoing Breakfast program available in the DHS Cafeteria each morning. The breakfast program is a great way to ensure students start the day with a nutritious meal. Students enrolled in the 2025-2026 free/reduced lunch program continue to receive breakfast at no cost.

Mr. Tseng’s Dream Car Project
Students in Mr. Tseng’s classes are diving into the real-world math behind owning their dream car! Each student researched a vehicle of their choice and calculated key financial details — including the down payment, total cost, interest accrued, and overall affordability. This engaging project helped students connect classroom concepts like percentages and interest rates to real-life financial decisions, all while imagining themselves behind the wheel of their dream ride!

Project Connect Halloween Celebration
Our Project Connect students — who were once ENL newcomers themselves — hosted a fun and festive Halloween celebration for our current ENL Newcomers! They prepared a short presentation on Halloween traditions and customs in the United States, helping their peers learn about the holiday. The event also featured games, sweet treats, and plenty of laughter as students bonded across cultures and experiences. It was a wonderful display of leadership, mentorship, and community spirit — showing how far our Project Connect students have come and how eager they are to give back!

Spotlight on Destroyer Dollars!
Did you know our students can earn Destroyer Dollars for demonstrating excellence both in and out of the classroom? Whether it’s showing academic growth, lending a helping hand, or being caught doing something truly amazing, these positive behaviors are recognized and rewarded!
When students receive Destroyer Dollars, they can enter our monthly raffle for prizes, enjoy a snack, or even earn a positive call home to celebrate their success. It’s our way of reinforcing the great choices our students make every day and building a school culture that values respect, effort, and pride. Keep up the great work, Destroyers!
