Thank you to Mrs. Clemens for all of her hours of hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to the Football, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Boys and Girls Soccer, and Girls Tennis teams as they were recognized for their efforts at the Fall Sports Awards. It was a great night to acknowledge the success of all of our teams and the hard work they showed this season. Thank you once again to Mr. DeNapoli for hosting the event and Mrs. Buchholz for the video presentation of season highlights.

Congratulations to all of the students that were recognized for their success at our quarterly Renaissance assemblies. Students can earn Renaissance cards through their academic success, being on time to school, participating in a club/sport/activity, having no failing grades, and no disciplinary referrals. 110 students received Renaissance cards, Homework passes, and gift cards to local businesses!!

Thank you to Dr. Best for organizing a field trip to the annual Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair. 8 of the 12 Seniors that attended the college fair received multiple university acceptances and tens of thousands of dollars in scholarship award offers if they choose to go there! Great opportunities for so many students.

Important Reminders

The DHS Homework Help Center will run from 2:45 - 3:45 pm, and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the DHS Tech Center. Students can come to get extra help from teachers with their school work or just sit and have a quiet place to get things done. We encourage students to attend so that they have fewer or no assignments to do when they get home.

The 2025-2026 Exodus Yearbook is officially on sale.

Destroyer Dollars! Did you know our students can earn Destroyer Dollars for demonstrating excellence both in and out of the classroom? Whether it’s showing academic growth, lending a helping hand, or being caught doing something truly amazing, these positive behaviors are recognized and rewarded!
When students receive Destroyer Dollars, they can enter our monthly raffle for prizes, enjoy a snack, or even earn a positive call home to celebrate their success. It’s our way of reinforcing the great choices our students make every day and building a school culture that values respect, effort, and pride. Keep up the great work, Destroyers!

Academic Corner: From the desk of Ms. Powell

Mr. Lakatos’s Intro to Engineering
This week, students designed detailed plans for a custom phone stand, then swapped their work with a peer to review clarity, accuracy, and functionality. The activity helped them strengthen their technical drawing skills and experience the collaborative design process.

Mrs. Laguna-Mourao’s Spanish Classes
Students practiced interviewing a partner using reflexive verbs, then wrote their partner’s responses in correct Spanish. This activity strengthened speaking, listening, and grammar skills while helping students build confidence using reflexive structures in real conversation.
