School News and Updates

Congratulations to Jayden Caraballo and Jonas Bradshaw as they were named to the GMC All-Blue Division team for Cross Country. Both runners did an exceptional job with the team this year, obtaining personal records and competing with the best runners in the county and state.

Congratulations to Kahbir Adu-Casey and Jackson Portik for being named 1st Team All-division in the Big Central Conference for football. Alex Martin was named 2nd Team All-division.

Congratulations to all of the students that were recognized at our Honor Roll Assembly. About 170 students earned Honor Roll or High Honor Roll last quarter, quite an accomplishment for the students and the hard work they put forth so far this year.

Class of 2026 - FAFSA reminder
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now OPEN. Please use the link for more information on completing the FAFSA.  It is now a Graduation requirement for all NJ high school students to complete the FAFSA during their 12th grade year.

With the holiday season upon us, it can be a fun, but also challenging time for some families and individuals.  Please see the attached November newsletter, Wellness Waves, from our school-based wellness specialist, Mrs. Ava de Oliveira.

Good luck to Mrs. Feddema as she will be going out on maternity leave, expecting her second child soon. We welcome back Ms. Perdomo who was here last year when Ms. Feddema had her first child.

There is an Early Dismissal day for all Dunellen students on Thursday, December 4th

Students involved in extracurricular activities and clubs will have their pictures taken on Friday, December 5th during the school day with the members of their club. The advisers will reach out to students to let them know the time of their pictures.

Important Reminders

The DHS Homework Help Center will run from 2:45 - 3:45 pm, and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the DHS Tech Center. Students can come to get extra help from teachers with their school work or just sit and have a quiet place to get things done. We encourage students to attend so that they have fewer or no assignments to do when they get home.

The 2025-2026 Exodus Yearbook is officially on sale.

Academic Corner: From the Thankful desk of Ms. Powell

Mrs. Lubsico’s English III classes recently read and analyzed The Canterbury Tales, focusing on the themes of transformation and social progress. Next week, students will take their learning a step further by connecting these timeless themes to modern-day issues, making meaningful links between classic literature and the world around them.

Ms. Bodak’s AP Biology class has been busy exploring the science of fermentation! Students are diving into hands-on lab work to observe how microorganisms transform sugars, and even created their own fermented products, giving them a deeper, real-world understanding of biochemical processes in action.
