Tonight, the annual Mistletoe dance will be held at the Dunellen Firehouse, a great venue for the event and we are hoping everyone has an amazing time. Thank you to the Class of 2026, it’s class officers and adviser for putting on the dance.

Fantastic job by the members of the DHS Bands as they held their concert for a packed house! It was great having so many people come out to support our Arts programs. Thank you to Mr. Sutera, our talented music director for the Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble. A special thanks to Mr. Valenzuela as he lent his voice as a very ‘special’ Santa.

Thank you to the DHS Madrigals for spreading the holiday cheer by performing for Dunellen community groups. The Ms. Piano and the Madrigals sang for the Dunellen/Green Brook Rotary Club and the Dunellen Senior Citizens. They did a fantastic job and it was much appreciated by the members.

Class of 2026 - FAFSA reminder
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is now OPEN. Please use the link for more information on completing the FAFSA.  It is now a Graduation requirement for all NJ high school students to complete the FAFSA during their 12th grade year.

Upcoming Events

The DHS Band and Choir will hold a school-wide concert on Tuesday during the school day as we finish up 2025 and look forward to 2026. It is always great to have the entire student body together to appreciate the talents in the school and be able to perform for one another.

There are 2 more days for the Winter Spirit Week:
Monday - Long Winter’s Nap - wear your coziest (school appropriate) pajamas
Tuesday - Crazy Hat Day

Good luck to the Boys and Girls Basketball teams as they have games tonight. The Boys team is home against New Brunswick HS. JV at 4 pm, Varsity at 5:30 pm. The Girls team will be at New Brunswick HS, playing at 4 pm.

Midterm Exams will be held near the end of January. Exam days will be January 20th - 23rd. Teachers will be speaking to students about how to prepare after the winter break.

Important Reminders

For the Class of 2026: As college acceptances start to roll in, please be sure to contact Dr. Best and the counseling office so that they are aware and help to make sure everything is taken care of with your college of choice.

The 2025-2026 Exodus Yearbook is officially on sale.

Academic Corner: From the festive desk of Ms. Powell

Mrs. Roussey’s AP Calculus students are hard at work gearing up for the AP exam in May! This week, the class has been diving into derivatives of trigonometric functions like sine, cosine, and tangent, building the skills and confidence needed for success on the exam. Their focus and persistence are great examples of the academic rigor happening in our classrooms every day.

Mr. Valenzuela’s and Mrs. Zandomenego’s Algebra I students are putting a creative spin on linear equations! Using their knowledge of points, slopes, and equations, students are designing animal drawings and bringing them to life through math. This three-part project challenges them to draw, label, and show their equations and calculations—proving that math and creativity make a great pair.
