Dear Parents,

This is the third update on the Universal Preschool Expansion Facilities Project at Faber Elementary School.

The other messages and additional project updates can be found at the *Construction Information* page on the district website

The website contains an overview of the project, funding details, an FAQ section, and other construction updates. It will be updated regularly as the project continues.

Asbestos Abatement - Completed!

The asbestos abatement project has now been completed and the final air quality testing results showed no detectable asbestos fibers in the air.

This is excellent news and I am extremely appreciative of our contractors and the district team for their careful and thoughtful work during this project!

As a reminder:
  • The abatement work was performed by a licensed asbestos contractor and was monitored by an independent environmental firm.
  • Safety protocols included the use of negative-pressure containment, sealed work areas, and HEPA filtration, and HVAC systems were shut down during the work.
  • Clearance testing was completed before the spaces were reopened.

These results meet Federal and state clearance standards and indicate that the safety efforts and guardrails were successful. To ensure the health of our students, staff, and community, we will continue to monitor air quality throughout Faber for the remainder of the project.

If you are interested in additional information about the abatement project, please feel free to review the final report.

Construction Updates - Future

I will continue to provide updates about this work via ParentSquare and through the district website.

Monthly construction updates will also be shared at each Board of Education meeting through the completion of the project.

Thank you for your continued support!
