Faber Construction Update

Universal Preschool Expansion Facilities Project

Dear Parents,

This is the fourth update on the Universal Preschool Expansion Facilities Project at Faber Elementary School.

The other messages and additional project updates can be found at the *Construction Information* page on the district website

The website contains an overview of the project, funding details, an FAQ section, and other construction updates. It will be updated regularly as the project continues.

Construction Continues!

Construction at Faber continues, following the work completed during Winter Break and a brief hiatus so the construction crew could use its well-earned holiday days.

All of the work so far has been completed outside of regular school hours, with a few initial steps taken before 8 am and the remainder of the work being done following the end of the school day (second shift). This has helped reduce any unnecessary disruptions to staff or students.
In order to secure the work site, we had the contractor build a full temporary wall around the construction zone, and the district facilities team took the time to paint and add trim so the wall blends properly into the school.

On the construction side of the wall, insulation has been added and all seams have been taped or covered with plastic to minimize the escape of any dust or other particulates. As a reminder, we are still continuously monitoring air quality through on-site testing and will do so throughout the project.

Some light day shift work will begin shortly but most of the major work will continue to be done during the second shift for now. The contractors have been amenable to our needs and we will continue to work with them to minimize any noise disruption or other concerns that might arise.
 

Construction Updates - Future

I will continue to provide updates about this work via ParentSquare and through the district website.

Monthly construction updates will also be shared at each Board of Education meeting through the completion of the project. The next Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in the Lincoln Middle School Cafetorium.
