Congratulations to Marissa DeLaCruz and Devyn DaSilva for receiving the GMC Sportsmanship Award this year.
A group of DHS students attended a field trip to UTI (Universal Technical Institute) this week, to learn more about what trade schools have to offer and the programs available. Thank you to Ms. Markert and Dr. Best for giving the students this opportunity.
Congratulations to the DHS Spring sports teams as their seasons have gotten off to a strong start.
The softball team has a record of 8-2 and are averaging over 20 runs per game.
The baseball team got off to a slow start but has now won 5 games in a row.
The tennis team remains undefeated with a record of 2-0-1.
The track & field team has seen strong individual performances from many athletes and are hoping to build on their recent success.
Good luck to all of the teams as the season continues.
Thank you to the Safety Ambassadors as they continue their program with the students at Faber Elementary School. The students have worked hard to design lessons that engage the younger children and get them to appreciate being safe around school, town, and in their homes.
For over 50 years, April has been designated as World Autism Month to promote acceptance of the tens of thousands of individuals with autism each year. World Autism Month is recognized both here in the United States and around the globe. DHS held a spirit week for students and staff to help bring awareness and understanding of autism.
Class of 2026: DHS has a Senior Practicum program, open to 12th grade students for the last 4 weeks of the school year, where they have a chance to do an internship at a local business or organization that may help them learn more about a potential career. Instead of attending school each day, the students work under the supervision of the adults at their site for 5 hours per day. Any interested 12th grader should speak to Ms. Piano for more information.
Class of 2026: FAFSA reminder
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be completed by all Seniors. Please use the link for more information on completing the FAFSA. It is now a Graduation requirement for all NJ high school students to complete the FAFSA during their 12th grade year.
